“The Faith of a Servant” in John Wesley’s Theology

“The faith of a servant” has been one of the more contested subjects in Wesley studies over the past three decades and longer. In Mark Olson’s recent book, John Wesley’s Doctrine of Justification, a new perspective is offered on Wesley’s servant theology based on his doctrine of degrees of justification. In this podcast you will learn Wesley’s concept of the servant and whether he understood the servant to be justified in some degree. We discuss the roots of the concept in the bible and how Wesley developed his servant/son metaphor in the late 1730s and early 1740s. Comments questions are welcome.
